Cooperative Living with YIT

Looking for a new apartment, but a traditional mortgage doesn't suit you? Cooperative living could be the solution—a modern alternative that combines the benefits of ownership with the flexibility of renting.

What Is Cooperative Housing?

Own Your Home
Without a Mortgage

YIT’s cooperative housing model is a modern alternative to a traditional mortgage. It combines the benefits of homeownership with the flexibility of renting. The housing cooperative finances the apartment, while you gain the exclusive right to live in and use it as your own home. Your monthly payments gradually lead you towards full ownership, making the process simpler and more accessible.

How does it work?

DID YOU KNOW THAT...

interest in cooperative housing is growing in Europe? In the Czech Republic, about 10% of the population lives in this way, in Vienna up to 45% of the population lives in cooperative housing.

YOU DON'T NEED A MORTGAGE

The loan from the bank is taken by the cooperative. Its members do not enter into a relationship with the bank, which does not assess their income. Members make monthly payments to the cooperative, which repay the cooperative's loan

AGE IS NOT A FACTOR

Your age is not important in cooperative housing. It makes housing affordable for all age groups, from the young to the elderly.

YOU ONLY NEED 20%

You only need 20% of the purchase price to get a share in a housing cooperative.

PERSONAL PROPERTY

After paying off the entire purchase price of the flat in monthly payments or a one-time payment of the purchase price, you will acquire the property into personal ownership.

SIMPLE FLAT TRANSFER

STABLE MONTHLY PAYMENTS
THROUGHOUT THE REPAYMENT PERIOD

The amount of the reimbursement to the cooperative is fixed compared to the market rent and varies only depending on the interest rate of the bank that finances the cooperative.
